No - this program has been designed to complement our store-led activity, not replace it.
Yes, however the mechanics of the program may change year on year - this year’s it is dedicated to the upgrade of facilities, however this may change for next year, for example next year we may support Women’s rugby.
To be eligible for consideration, local grassroots clubs will need to outline why they need/want to upgrade their facilities in 400 words or less, a top-line breakdown of key timings, incl. target completion date, a top-line breakdown of the budget, along with uploaded images or a video of their community club. All entries will be assessed and a judging panel consisting of senior Bunnings and NZR representatives will make the final call on recipients.

Bunnings Rugby Assist is an annual program, so if your local club misses out in 2021, hopefully they will be eligible to apply again next year.
No, there is a maximum of $30,000 of Bunnings product and materials to be allocated to individual clubs; if clubs share facilities or are joined in any way, the maximum amount they are eligible to receive is $30,000 of Bunnings products and materials.
The competition terms and conditions clearly outline that grants consist of Bunnings product and materials - by accepting the terms and conditions when they enter the competition, they are agreeing to responsibility for covering any additional costs. To ensure clubs are not caught unaware, this information will also be overtly communicated on the entry page. Where possible, our store teams can help the club with labour for their project.
Bunnings understands the connection that New Zealand communities have with their local rugby clubs. We’re pleased to be able to support grassroots rugby through Bunnings Rugby Assist and make a meaningful difference to the wider community. Our team is looking forward to connecting and working closely with the successful rugby clubs to bring each project to life.
